Marian University Seeks Presenters for 19th Annual Academic Symposium

Scholars and Community Leaders Invited to Share Research and Perspectives on Democracy, Truth, Authoritarianism, and Public Life

Marian University (Wisconsin)  invites scholars, researchers, professionals, and community thought leaders to submit proposals to present at its 19th Annual Academic Symposium, beginning with an evening keynote on March 17, 2026, and continuing throughout the day on March 18, 2026, on the Marian University campus.

The Academic Symposium, a long-standing tradition at Marian University, brings together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the broader community for an exchange of ideas that span disciplines and perspectives. The 2026 Symposium will examine democracy and authoritarianism through their ideologies and practices, considering their impact on the sciences, humanities, health and social welfare systems, business, and education, while inviting participants to reflect on the value of democracy, whether it is worth preserving, and how it might be sustained.

“We are seeking innovative and engaging presentations that deepen understanding and spark thoughtful dialogue across a range of academic and professional fields,” Dr. David Leichter, Academic Symposium Co-Chair, said. “This is a premier opportunity for presenters to contribute to meaningful conversations that matter to our campus and community.”

Marian University encourages proposals from faculty, graduate students, practitioners, and community experts. Presentations should align with the Symposium’s theme and aim to foster rigorous inquiry and inclusive discussion. A Request to Present Form and additional details are available on the Symposium website.
