University Invites Community to Recognize Alumni and Friends Who Exemplify Marian’s Mission and Core Values

Marian University is now accepting nominations for its annual Alumni Awards, recognizing outstanding alumni whose achievements, leadership, service, and commitment reflect the university’s mission and core values.

Presented by the Marian University Alumni Association, the awards celebrate individuals who continue to make a meaningful impact in their professions, communities, and at Marian University. Nominations are being accepted from alumni, faculty, staff, students, and community members.

Award categories include:

  • Distinguished Alumni Award – Recognizes alumni who have achieved distinction in their profession or field, demonstrated leadership and integrity, upheld Marian University’s core values, and made significant contributions to society or the university.
  • Alumni Service Award – Honors alumni who have demonstrated exceptional volunteer service and commitment to Marian University through mentorship, event support, leadership, advocacy, or other meaningful contributions that advance the university’s mission.
  • Spirit of Marian Award – Recognizes an alumnus, alumna, or community member whose dedication, advocacy, volunteerism, philanthropy, and support have positively advanced Marian University and embodied the spirit of the institution. Unlike the other awards, nominees for this award are not required to be Marian alumni.

“Each year, these awards provide an opportunity to celebrate individuals who live out Marian University’s values through their leadership, service, and dedication to others,” Kim Laws, Vice President of Advancement and Alumni Relations, said. “We know there are countless alumni making a difference in their communities, and we encourage members of the Marian family to help us recognize their accomplishments.”

Award recipients will be selected by the Alumni Awards Subcommittee and honored during Marian University’s annual Alumni Awards celebration on Saturday, September 18, 2026.

Individuals may submit nominations online by completing the nomination form. Nominations are reviewed based solely on the information submitted. Nominations are due July 27, 2026.
