GAME 1

  • MSOE was on the board first after scoring a run with two outs in the second inning.
  • A bases loaded hit by pitch for the Raiders in the sixth extended that lead to 2-0.
  • The Sabres had an opportunity to get on the board in the sixth but stranded the bases loaded with two outs.
  • Marian opened the bottom of the seventh with two quick outs before back-to-back singles from freshman Erin Cowe and sophomore Hope Matta kept the inning alive.
  • Senior Katelyn Matenaer then came through for the Sabres hitting a walk-off three-run home run.

GAME 2

  • The Sabre offense then took over in game two scoring at least one run in every inning.
  • Junior Kendall Pliner drove in a pair to start the scoring in the first inning.
  • Sophomore Arina Schliepp would bring in a pair of Sabres in the second as part of a three-run inning to put Marian ahead 5-0.
  • In the third it was a sacrifice fly from sophomore Abigail Schreiber that gave Mariana 6-0 lead.
  • Then in the fourth, Pliner, K. and sophomore Riley Mankowski each drove in a run to secure the mercy-rule win.
