Marian softball predicted seventh by NACC preseason poll

Marian University softball received 199 points to finish seventh in the NACC preseason poll.

Concordia Wisconsin was picked atop the poll receiving 321 points and 14 first-place tallies.  Benedictien also finished above 300 points at 306 with eight first-place picks.  Dominican finished just below 300 points and grabbed four first-place votes.  Aurora and MSOE were separated by just one point at 224 and 223 with Concordia Chicago just four points off of their pace at 219.  The Sabres then came in seventh at 199 followed by Lakeland at 177 as the final two picks for the NACC Tournament.

Edgewood, 116, and St. Norbert, 109, were the final schools with more than 100 points.  Rockford and Wisconsin Lutheran followed and were separated by just eight points with Alverno rounding out the poll.

The top eight teams will receive a berth into the NACC Tournament with the conference tournament champion earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Marian opens its season at THE Spring Games March 1-6 where the Sabres will play 10 games.
