Marian University softball (23-18, 12-12 NACC) opened the NACC Tournament defeating MSOE 2-1 in walk-off fashion.

- Marian had at least one runner in scoring position in each of the first three innings and MSOE stranded a pair of runners in scoring position in the second in an early pitcher’s duel.
- The Sabres were able to finally break through in the fourth inning when freshman Savanna Knuth hit her first home run as a Sabre.
- This lead didn’t last long as MSOE was able to take advantage of an error and a wild pitch to tie the game in the top of the fifth.
- After a fairly quiet couple of innings, senior Evelynn Spaeth was able to open the bottom of the seventh with a triple to center field.
- Freshman Erin Cowe then sent Marian to the next round with a walk-off single to give Marian a 2-1 victory.
- Marian used four different pitchers and all four only allowed one base hit.
- Marian was scheduled to play CUW in another single-elimination game but due to rain, that game was moved to tomorrow, Friday, May 10 at 1:30 p.m.
