Marian University softball (24-18, 12-12 NACC) advanced to the double-elimination portion of the NACC Tournament with a 7-4 victory over Concordia Wisconsin.
 

• The Sabres took advantage of an early miscue from the Falcons to score a pair of runs in the opening frame.
• Junior Kendall Pliner put the Sabres on the board with a two-out single that brought home both runs.
• After a quiet second inning, Marian was able to break the game open with five runs in the third.
• The scoring for the inning opened with singles from sophomores Ariana Schliepp and Riley Mankowski that put the Sabres ahead 4-0.
• Senior Evelynn Speath put an exclamation point on the inning with a bases-clearing double that put the Marian advantage up to 7-0.
• The Falcons responded in the third with three runs to only trail four and added a run in the fourth.
• The final three innings were quiet on both sides, however, leading to the Marian victory.
• This is the first victory for Marian over CUW since the 2019 season, which also came in the NACC Tournament.
• Marian has also won multiple NACC Tournament games for only the third time in program history.

	Freshman Sabrina Di Vito (9-8) tossed the final 4.1 innings allowing just one run on five hits.
	Sophomore Hope Matta had a big game going 3-for-4 with a run scored.
	Sophomore Ariana Schliepp went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a run driven in.
