Marian University NCAA men’s ice hockey (2-2-0, 0-1-0-1 NCHA) earned a point at No. 4/5 St. Norbert in a 4-3 overtime defeat.

- After a scoreless opening period, St. Norbert was able to strike just 53 seconds into the second stanza.
- The lead didn’t last long, however, as sophomore Noah Pickart scored off of a face-off win from senior Daunte Fortner just 26 seconds later to tie the game.
- Senior Matteo Pecchia then buried a breakaway goal at the 11:50 mark to put Marian ahead 2-1 going into the final period.
- The Green Knights were able to tie the game at the 5:27 mark of the third and retook the lead at 3-2 2:32 later.
- Sophomore Hayden Tuba had the answer for Marian with 10:23 left in regulation lighting the lamp with assists from junior Alex Enegren and freshman Brendan Bottem.
- Marian had the first shot of overtime, but SNC was able to net the game-winner just as a Sabre penalty from the end of regulation was expiring to take the extra point.

- St. Norbert held a 52-19 advantage for shots in the game.
- The Green Knights also held an edge on face-offs with 37 wins to only 28 for Marian.
- The Sabre penalty kill held SNC scoreless on five chances, while the Marian power play didn’t see the ice for the entire series.
- This was the fifth game in the all-time series that went to overtime.
- St. Norbert improves to 5-41-3 all-time against the Sabres and have won the last eight games.
