Marian University NCAA men’s ice hockey (2-0-0, 0-0-0-0 NCHA) defeated St. Olaf 4-0 to close out the opening weekend of the season.

- Marian was able to get out to a strong start and opened the scoring 7:40 into the game.
- Sophomore Caden Carlson was the goal scorer with assists from fellow sophomores Cole Carlson and Blake Stafford.
- The 1-0 score held until sophomore lit the lamp with 5:52 to play in the second period with a helper from Stafford.
- Freshman Brandon Moode joined in at the 7:37 mark of the third period for his first collegiate goal with assists from seniors Daunte Fortner and Jaymes Knee.
- Marian was able to ice the game with 3:22 to play when junior Quinn Mulder scored an empty-net goal with an assist from sophomore Hayden Tuba.

- Marian had at least 11 shots in all three periods finishing with a 35-27 advantage for the game.
- Neither team netted a power-play goal with St. Olaf having four chances and Marian five.
- Each squad was unable to convert a 5-on-3 opportunity.
- Marian is now 6-5-1 all-time against St. Olaf.
- This is the first 2-0-0 start for Marian since the 2019-20 season.
