Marian NCAA men’s hockey picked seventh in NCHA preseason poll

Marian University NCAA hockey received 30 points to finish seventh in the conference preseason poll, as voted on by the head coaches of the league.

St. Norbert and Adrian tied atop the poll each receiving 93 points where the Green Knights had six first-place votes to three for the Bulldogs.  Trine and Aurora followed with the Thunder taking 79 points and the Spartans 73 points along with the final first-place vote.  MSOE was not far behind the group receiving 60 points.

Concordia Wisconsin and Marian followed in a tight race for sixth and seventh with 41 and 40 points, respectively.  Lake Forest earned 28 points to close out the preseason picks to reach the NCHA Harris Cup Playoffs.  Dubuque and Lawrence rounded out the poll with 24 and 19 points, respectively.

The winner of the NCHA Harris Cup Playoffs will receive the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Marian opens the season against Bethel, who is receiving votes in the national poll, Friday, November 1 at 7 p.m.
