Marian University NCAA men’s hockey (6-9-0, 2-6-0-0 NCHA) defeated Dubuque 7-0 to finish third at the Superior Showdown.

- Senior Nicholas Cherkowski opened the scoring on the power play with his eighth goal of the year at the 11:07 mark.
- The special teams continued to score when senior Austin Nault scored a short-handed goal, his first of the year, with 4:02 left in the period.
- Marian kept on rolling with a pair of goals in the first 2:51 of the second period to lead 4-0.
- Freshman Cole Carlson scored the first at 2:22 and Stafford followed just 29 seconds later. It was the first collegiate goal for each Sabre skater.
- Another first collegiate goal closed out the scoring for the second and put Marian ahead 5-0 when freshman Nolan Flint scored at the 7:46 mark.
- Carlson then gave himself a multi-goal game with a power-play goal at the 13:55 mark of the third.
- Sophomore Quinn Mulder concluded the scoring at 7-0 scoring with 4:00 left in the game.

- Marian finished with a 30-20 advantage shots and outshot the Spartans in the first two periods.
- The Sabre power play was 2-for-5 in the win and the penalty kill didn’t allow a goal on three chances for Dubuque.
- The Sabres dominated in the circle winning 50 of the 70 faceoffs.
- Marian finishes the year 3-0-0 against Dubuque having outscored the Spartans 17-5.
- The shutout was the first this season for the Sabres.
- The Sabres have never lost mulitple games at the Superior Showdown in six tournaments.
