Marian University men’s volleyball (11-12, 4-4 NACC) defeated Illinois Tech in five sets in its first home match in 17 days; 25-18, 21-25, 25-23, 22-25, 18-16.

- Marian put up a valiant rally with a 5-1 run but was unable to prevent a fifth set.
- After spotting Illinois Tech the first three points, Marian rallied and the fifth was tied at 6-6.
- Marian then went on a 5-1 run to lead 11-7 and brought that lead out to 14-11.
- Illinois Tech was able to fight off five match-point opportunities before Dreifuerst put the match away with a kill.

- Marian finished with a 72-55 advantage for kills and 72-62 edge for digs.
- The Scarlet Hawks had an edge at the net 10-4 for blocks.
- The Sabres improve to 10-2 in home matches and 3-2 in matches that go five sets.
- Marian is now 11-1 all-time against Illinois Tech with this being the first five-set match between the two programs.
