Marian University men’s volleyball (5-0, 0-0 NACC) defeated Adrian 24-26, 25-12, 25-16, 25-21 to close out the Sabre Classic.
- Adrian jumped out to a fast 7-2 lead to open the match but Marian was able to battle back and only trailed 9-8.
- The two squads ended up tied 23-23 before Adrian took the opening set on its second set-point chance.
- Marian jumped all over the Bulldogs to open the second opening with a 15-3 lead.
- The Sabres were also able to close out the dominating set with a 5-1 run.
- The two squads were knotted 15-15 to open the third before Marian scored eight unanswered points to pull ahead and take the set.
- The Bulldogs opened the fourth with a lead as well at 14-12.
- Marian then scored six of the next seven points to lead by three and draw a timeout.
- After Adrian scored the next point, Marian answered with four straight to pull ahead and complete the win.
- Each team had 47 digs while Marian had a 48-40 advantage for kills.
- The Sabres had a strong match at the service line with eight aces.
- Marian also had double-digit kills in three of the four sets and hit .237.
- The Sabres improve to 7-0 against Adrian all-time.

Senior Derek Wills finished with a double-double going for 16 kills and 10 digs.

Senior Dante Pulphus had a team-high 11 digs.

Senior Isaac Dreifuerst had 10 kills to go with 10 digs and two assisted blocks.
