Marian Men’s Soccer Ties WLC to Open NACC Play

Marian University men’s soccer (1-3-3, 0-0-1 NACC) tied Wisconsin Lutheran 1-1 to open conference play.

  • Wisconsin Lutheran jumped out fast on the Sabres and took control early, but it was Marian who found the back of the net first.
  • Freshman Micah Boyer opened the scoring at the 31:07 mark with his second goal of the season.
  • This 1-0 advantage held all the way into halftime after a more balanced finish to the half.
  • The second half saw the script flipped as Marian jumped out fast, but WLC was able to even the score off of a corner kick in the 56th minute.
  • Wisconsin Lutheran created more opportunities to close out the game but the Mariand defense held on for the draw.

  • Corner kicks were nearly equal with WLC having six chances to four for Marian.
