Marian men’s soccer salvages draw in season finale

Marian University men’s soccer (3-11-5, 2-8-2 NACC) closed out the season with a 2-2 draw against UW-Stevens Point from a rainy and windy Smith Field.

  • Marian controlled play early and was able to strike just 2:57 in when freshman Micah Boyer scored his fifth of the season with an assist from fellow freshman Mason Radulski.
  • The Pointers built momentum midway through the opening half and knotted the game in the 33rd minute.
  • UWSP then took the lead heading into halftime scoring with just 31 seconds left.
  • The Pointer lead didn’t last long, however, as Marian found an equalizer just 1:20 into the second stanza.
  • Junior Nathan Blazenko was the goal scorer for Marian striking for his fifth of the season.
  • Quality opportunities were at a premium for the remainder of the game leading to the 2-2 tie.
