Marian University men’s soccer (4-6-2, 2-3-1 NACC) stayed competitive with the nine-win Pointers, but fell short, 2-1. 
 

• Scoring started quick, with Noah Johnson giving the Pointers a 1-0 lead in only the 2nd minute.
• At 15:24, a shot by senior Vince Sanchez nearly went in, hitting the top woodwork.
• Marian took advantage of a Stevens Point miscue, scoring off a Pointer own goal at 22:13 to even it at 1-1.
• In the 31st minute, Marcelo Chavez of the Pointers scored to give them a 2-1 lead, which would remain to the final.
• The Sabres mustered up six shots in the second half, but none were enough to find the equalizer.

• Each team was even with 14 shots each, while the Pointers held a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal.
• The Sabres outpaced the Pointers with 8 shots in the first half.
• A notable difference comes in the corner kicks category, with UW-Stevens Point holding an 11-2 advantage, including 9-1 in the second half.
• The all-time series now sits at 0-1-1 with the Pointers. 
• In only their second season of competition, the Pointers win today gave them a new single-season win record (9).

	Freshman Szymon Kielar had a team-high four shots, including one on goal. .
	Junior Tyler Hall (4-6-2) had two saves and helped hold the Pointers scoreless in the second half.
	Sophomore Brayden Johnson had three shots with two being on goal, while playing all 90 minutes.
