Marian University men’s soccer (2-4-1, 0-2-0 NACC) took the lead early in the second half, but was followed by two scores from Dominican, leading to a 2-1 defeat. 
 

• Both teams went scoreless in the first half, with the Sabres only recording two shot attempts in comparison to the Stars eight. 
• Senior Vince Sanchez opened up the scoring with a goal at 50:29 off the assist from senior Nathan Blazenko.
• Three minutes later, Dominican responded with a penalty kick goal from Ryan Gutierrez. 
• After nearly thirty minutes, Dominican took a late lead with a goal from Jonathan Almaguer at 81:43.
• Marian only managed one shot in the final twenty minutes, falling by a score of 2-1. 

• Despite the close score, Marian trailed 16-8 in shots.
• Marian also trailed significantly in corner kicks, with a 9-1 deficit. 
• The Sabres tied a season-high with 21 fouls in the loss. 
• The 1-0 lead marked Marian’s first lead against Dominican since 2022, a 4-3 win against the Stars.
• The Sabres are 3-26 all-time against the Stars, with this loss marking their third consecutive loss against Dominican.

	Senior Vince Sanchez scored his first goal as a Sabre, as well as led the team in shots (4).
	Junior Tyler Hall (2-4-1) recorded four saves on the day.
	Senior Nathan Blazenko assisted on the Sanchez goal, his second assist of the season.
