Marian University NCAA men’s hockey (3-7-0, 2-5-0-0 NCHA) was defeated 4-1 to open a series at No. 15 Trine.

• A defensive opening period saw Trine strike first at the 12:07 mark of the period.
• The Thunder controlled the second period scoring a pair of goals separated by just 1:34 with the first coming on a power play.
• The Sabres were able to net the first goal of the third period when senior Nolan Kadachuk lit the lamp with assists from junior Jaymes Knee and fellow senior Adam Nobes.
• An empty-net goal from the Thunder with just 1:47 remaining would ice the 4-1 final.

• Marian was outshot 38-15 for the game.
• The two squads combined for 17 penalties with Marian going scoreless on four power-play chances and Trine scoring once on five chances.
• Trine held a 40-33 advantage in the face-off circle.
• Trine has now won the last five meetings against Marian.

	Senior Nolan Kadachuk scored his third goal of the season for the lone Marian score.
	Junior Jaymes Knee recorded his fourth assist and seventh point of the season.
	Senior Aaron Brunn (3-6-0) had a season-high 34 saves in the defeat.
