Marian University men’s ice hockey (7-13-1, 4-9-1 NCHA) defeated MSOE 1-0 in a shootout following a 1-1 tie.

- A strong start from Marian saw senior Daunte Fortner score 6:06 into the opening period with assists from freshman Edison Weeks and junior Noah Pickart.
- MSOE had an answer with 6:07 left in the stanza to tie the game.
- Marian spent a good chunk of the second period on the penalty kill but kept the game at 1-1.
- The Sabres then dominated the final period but were forced to go to overtime where the score would still go unsettled.
- In the shootout, freshman Nicholas Von Kaufmann stopped all three shots before senior Jaymes Knee scored on the last attempt for the dramatic win.

- Marian held a 31-21 advantage for shots and outshot MSOE 8-2 in the final period.
- The Raiders won more draws at a 39-24 clip.
- Marian fought off both major penalty kills they faced but went scoreless on three power-play chances.
- This was the first shootout of the season for the Sabres.
- Marian is now 54-36-3 all-time against MSOE.
