Marian men’s bowling takes second GLBC event

Marian University men’s bowling finished first in both varsity and varsity-reserve action at the second GLBC event of the season.

  • The Marian varsity squad was in third after the opening day recording 4,754 pins in traditional play but dominated in Baker with 3,208 to average 194.2 over 41 games.
  • A tough first game held the Sabres back in traditional play but Marian finished with more than 900 pins in four of the five games.
  • The Sabres were able to close out traditional action a team-best 999 in its final game.
  • Then in Baker format, Marian opened with games of at least 200 pins in 10 of the first 11 games.
  • Marian had at least 200 pins in all four games of the second set and finished with 852 pins, 213.0 average.
  • The Marian varsity squad sits in second place behind UW-Whitewater in the overall standings.
  • The varsity-reserve squad had the highest totals in traditional play and Baker to cruise to a first-place finish.
  • Marian finished just nine pins behind the varsity squad in traditional play at 4,745.
  • Marian had three games with at least 970 pins with a high of 1,048 in the fourth game.
  • In Baker, the Sabres finished with 2,987 pins, or a 186.7 average.
  • Marian had a strong second set where they had two of their four games with at least 200 pins and averaged 202.8.

 

Leaders Grahpic

 

Alex Glodowski averaged 218.0 pins to finish in first place.  He had three games with at least 200 pins and a high game of 276.
Jaysen Spanbauer led the varsity squad and finished third with a 208.2 average. He had at least 200 pins in his final three games with a high of 269.
Tommy Reboletti finished fourth after averaging 207.4.  He had two games above 200 pins with a 266 as a high game.
