Marian men’s bowling qualifies for ITC National Championship

Marian University men’s bowling qualified for the USBC ITC National Championship for the first time in program history after finishing third at sectionals.

  • The Sabres had a strong start to the team competition opening in second with 3,472 pins.
  • Marian had 10 games with at least 200 pins in the first block including the final five games.
  • The second block saw Marian drop to fourth despite another 10 games with 200 pins and 3,163 pins in the block.
  • Marian bounced back nicely moving up to third after recording 3,393 pins in the third block.
  • The Sabres had 200 pins in 13 of the 16 games in the third block and were one of three schools with at least 10,000 total pins.
  • The final block saw Marian solidify its third-place finish with 3,370 pins and another 12 games with at least 200 pins.
  • Marian had the second-highest total in the final block to conclude with 13,398 pins.
  • This is the first time Marian has qualified for the ITC National Championship in program history.
  • The singles part of the competition saw two student-athletes finish in the top 15.

Alex Duong nearly qualified for the ISC National Championship finishing 10th with 1,289 pins, 214.8 average.
Jaysen Spanbauer had another strong showing in singles action finishing 15th with 1,259 pins, 209.8 average.
Kody Litzen placed 47th with 1,201 pins, 200.2 average.
