Marian men’s bowling competes in pair of events

Marian University men’s bowling competed at the first GLBC event of the season and the Columbia 300 Western Shootout.

COLUMBIA 300 WESTERN SHOOTOUT

  • The Sabres opened the event in 13th after a traditional team score of 5,905.
  • Marian had three of six games with more than 1,000 pins including a 1,027 in the fourth game.
  • The Baker format was a little tougher for the Sabres leading Marian to slip to 19th.
  • Marian managed a 16-game total of 3,112 for a total of 9,017 pins.
  • The Sabres opened strong with three games of more than 200 pins including a team-best 243 in the opener.
  • Marian had at least 200 pins in eight of the 16 Baker games.

GLBC EVENT No. 1

  • Similarly, the second squad also had a strong traditional day with 4,606 pins, good for fourth to open the event.
  • The Sabres then had a team score of 2,735 in Baker play.
  • Over the 41 total games Marian averaged 179.1 good for fifth and just one pin behind fourth place.

Kody Litzen finished 19th as an individual at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout with a 215.2 average.  He had three games above 200 pins with a high of 267.
Tommy Reboletti recovered from a slow start to average 199.5 at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout.  His last three games saw him average 214.0.
Riley Dehnel led Marian at the GLBC finishing 14th with an average of 186.2.
