Marian Men’s Bowling Competes at Midwest Collegiate Championships

Marian University men’s bowling finished 28th at the Midwest Collegiate Championship.

  • The Sabres had a strong start to the event opening in 22nd after traditional play.
  • Marian finished with 4,373 pins during traditional matches.
  • The Baker format proved to be tough for Marian for the second straight weekend as Marian slipped to 28th with 3,523.
  • Savannah College of Art and Design qualified as the top seed for bracket play at 8,846 pins, but it was Marian (Ind.) who defeated Webber International for the bracket championship.

Junior Jaysen Spanbauer finished 52nd to lead Marian with a 208.6 average.  He had more than 200 pins in three games with a high of 233.
Junior Tommy Reboletti wasn’t far behind in 59th place with an average of 206.2. 
Senior Ryan Dreikosen bounced back from a slow start to average 188.8.
