Marian men’s bowling claims share of GLBC Championship

Marian University men’s bowling finished GLBC play 34-2 to claim a share of the conference championship.

  • The final GLBC event of the season saw Marian finished second overall after posting scores of 5,148 in traditional play and 3,330 in Baker format, or a 206.78 average in total.
  • In traditional play, Marian had three games above 1,000 pins including a 1,096 in the opening game.
  • The Sabres then averaged 204.0 or better in all four sets of Baker play and had at least one game above 200 pins in each set.
  • Marian finished the GLBC regular season with a 34-2 record to claim a share of the GLBC Championship with Rock Valley.
  • This is the second straight year Marian has claimed at least a share of the GLBC Championship.
  • As the No. 2 seed, the GLBC Tournament saw Marian fall in the opening round to UW-La Crosse despite recording 200 pins or better in all three games.
  • The final scores for the Eagle win were 258-246, 148-212, 243-219.

Freshman Tyler Meade was named the GLBC Player and Newcomer of the Year after averaging 207.64 over three events.
Senior Rory Clark earned All-Conference recognition finishing fourth with a 203.07 average over three events.
Senior Ryan Dreikosen finished eighth at the fourth GLBC Event with a 215.2 average.
