Marian University men’s basketball (4-19, 4-12 NACC) never trailed defeating Illinois Tech 64-45 on the road.

- Marian scored the first 12 points of the game and never looked back to open its final road trip of the season.
- The Scarlet Hawks would score seven straight following a timeout and the game remained two possessions for most of the half.
- The Sabres were able to head into the locker room with a 29-24 advantage.
- IIT was able to jump out to a quick start to open the second half and only trailed 31-30 with 16:54 to play.
- Marian quickly responded with a 12-3 spurt to build a double-digit lead.
- The Sabres kept a hefty advantage the rest of the way and closed out the game with 11 unanswered points to put the final at 64-45.

- Marian finished 23-of-52 (.442) from the field and 13-of-28 (.464) from beyond the arc.
- Illinois Tech was limited to 18-of-48 (.375) shooting and 4-of-12 (.333) on three-pointers.
- The Sabre defense was also able to force 19 IIT turnovers and outscored the Scarlet Hawks 20-2 in points off turnovers.
- Marian has now won five of the last six games against IIT and improves to 10-3 all-time against the Scarlet Hawks.
