Marian men’s basketball sees season end in NACC Tournament

Marian University men’s basketball (16-10, 9-9 NACC) had its season come to an end after falling to MSOE 91-74 in the NACC Tournament Quarterfinals.

  • Marian trailed by a slim 17-14 margin before MSOE was able to pull away 12-5 run to lead by 10.
  • The Sabres were able to stay in the game and only trailed by four with 4:18 left in the half.
  • MSOE then had a good finish to the half with a 13-5 spurt to lead 48-36 at halftime.
  • The Raiders built their lead out to 17 to open the second half, but the Sabres chipped away and only trailed seven with 10:17 to play.
  • This would be as close as Marian managed, however, as MSOE immediately scored eight straight points to lead by 15.
  • The final horn saw the score settle at 91-74.

  • Marian was 22-of-54 (.407) from the field and 8-of-30 (.267) from beyond the arc.
  • MSOE shot 30-of-49 (.612) and 13-of-24 (.542) on triples.
  • The Raiders had an 18-9 advantage for points off of turnovers, while the Sabres held a 19-9 edge for second chance points.
  • Marian is now 45-26 all-time against MSOE and 3-1 in postseason action.

Freshman Harper Krolak scored a season-high 18 points and had six rebounds.
Senior Mahlik Hall added 13 points off the bench.
Senior Eli Vogel netted 11 points and had a steal.
