Marian men’s basketball dominates early in win over Edgewood

Marian University men’s basketball (15-7, 8-7 NACC) earned a season sweep of Edgewood defeating the Eagles 91-62.

  • Marian scored the first nine points of the game and quickly found themselves ahead 19-4 with 11:01 left in the first half.
  • A 16-4 spurt from the Sabres shortly after put Marian ahead 42-12 and 2:37 on the clock.
  • Marian would head into the halftime break leading 49-31, its largest lead of the first half.
  • After Edgewood scored the first two points of the second half, Marian scored six unanswered to lead by 37.
  • The Sabres maintained a lead of at least 30 points for most of the half leading by as much as 38.
  • In the end, Marian finished with a 91-62 win, the highest point total for Marian this season in a game that didn’t go to overtime.

  • Edgewood was limited to 22-of-60 (.367) shooting and 7-of-24 (.292) on triples.
