Marian University men’s basketball (14-7, 7-7 NACC) snapped a four-game skid defeating Illinois Tech 72-50 at home.

- Both offenses struggled in the opening minutes with the game being tied at 7-7 with 11:27 left before halftime.
- Marian then found its stride going on an 18-5 run to build a 13-point advantage with 5:52 on the clock.
- The Sabres scored the final six points, including a buzzer beater at the horn from sophomore Andrew Ayeni, to go into the break ahead 40-22.
- Tech came out of the half scoring the first eight points to only trail 10 and draw a Marian timeout.
- Marian immediately scored seven points out of the stoppage to build its lead back to 17 points.
- The Sabres built their lead to as high as 22 points on a couple of occasions including the final score that settle at 72-50.

- Marian shot 24-of-52 (.462) from the field and went 12-of-29 (.414) from beyond the arc, tying a season-high for triples.
- Illinois Tech was 19-for-46 (.413) in the game and just 5-of-20 (.250) on triples.
- The Sabres forced 16 turnovers and outscored the Scarlet Hawks 23-5 in points off turnovers.
- The Marian bench came up big scoring 40 points.
- Marian is now 12-3 all-time against Illinois Tech having won seven of the last eight games.
