Marian field hockey wins fifth straight at Keuka

Marian University field hockey (5-0, 0-0 CFHC) posted its second shutout of the season defeating Keuka 5-0.

  • Senior Jikke Biemans continued her strong play of late scoring at the 4:35 mark and at 14:33 of the first quarter to put Marian ahead 2-0.
  • Sophomore Clara Guivernau Ragghianti assisted the first goal and freshman Shaelyn Klossen the second.
  • That 2-0 lead looked like it would hold going into halftime before freshman Charlotte Touw scored with just 29 seconds left in the half.
  • After a scoreless third quarter, senior Allyson Nichols scored 1:47 into the fourth to put Marian ahead 4-0.
  • Touw then sealed her second goal of the game at the 52:26 mark to put the final at 5-0.

  • Marian finished with a 31-2 advantage in shots with 25 of the Marian shots being on frame.
  • The Sabre defense didn’t allow any Keuka shots to be on goal.
  • Marian had a 17-2 edge for penalty corners and committed 68 fouls to only 37 for Keuka.
  • This was the second shutout of the season for Marian and first game the Sabres didn’t allow a shot on goal.
  • This was the first meeting between Marian and Kueka.
