Sophomores Allyson Nichols and Kirstyn Wagner of Marian University field hockey have been named the SAA Players of the Week.
Nichols (Little Falls, N.Y.) had an historic game leading Marian to a 6-1 win over Concordia Wisconsin. She would score four goals, one of which was the game-winner, to go with two assists for a Marian single-game record 10 points. The performance was the fifth of her career where she scored at least three goals, and her first four-goal game.
Wagner (Harrisburg, Pa.) led Marian to a weekend sweep of CUW appearing in goal for the first time in her career. Normally a midfielder, Wagner allowed just one goal in each game against the Falcons finishing with 14 saves in total and a .875 save percentage. In the final game of the series, Wagner made 10 saves with a .909 save percentage.
