Marian Field Hockey Finishes Road Trip Strong

Marian University field hockey (4-2, 0-0 CFHC) finished a four-game road trip defeating Eastern Mennonite 7-0.

  • Marian didn’t wait long to score when junior Allyson Nichols scored off of a penalty corner just 1:42 into the match with an assist from fellow junior Jikke Biemans.
  • Freshman Laura Bos added to the Sabre lead with just 3:47 to play in the opening stanza.
  • The second quarter saw Marian net just one goal when Biemans scored with 3:17 left in the quarter.
  • Marian then pulled away in the third quarter after scoring four goals.
  • Nicholas had another strong finish scoring just 1:49 into the second half, assist to junior Merel Nagelkerke.
  • Marian then scored the final three goals of the game in a span of 2:38.
  • Biemans scored the first two goals with Nichols assisting both before Nichols netted her third of the game to finish the scoring.
  • The fourth quarter saw neither side score to lead to the 7-0 final.
