Marian University baseball received 145 total points to finish the NACC preseason poll in eighth, as voted on by the head coaches and athletic communication professionals of the league.
Aurora and Benedictine each received 316 total points to tie as the favorite to win the league. The Spartans grabbed 13 of the available first-place votes and the Eagles had 10. MSOE wasn’t far behind at 294 and also received a first-place tally. Edgewood took the final two first-place votes and finished in fourth at 260. Concordia Chicago and Illinois Tech finished within a point of each other to round out all of the schools with more than 200 points. Concordia Wisconsin was next in seventh just three points behind the Scarlet Hawks.
Marian and Dominican wre then separated by just two points for eighth and ninth, respectively. Rockford followed and was the final institution with more than 100 points. St. Norbert would finish 11th followed by Lakeland and WLC who were only separated by nine total points.

Marian opens the season taking on Albion and Hope Saturday, February 24 from Grand Park in Westfield, Ind.
