Describe Yourself in Three Words: Honest, Intuitive, Dependable

Place of Employment and Position: Agnesian HealthCare, a member of SSM Health – Marketing & Events Specialist

What do you enjoy the most about your current position?
I enjoy the variance in my day-to-day work, as no two days are alike. The multifaceted tasks and duties provide great scope for all we accomplish as a team. My role has empowered me to foster many great connections and relationships with local partners, organizations and businesses, within the communities that Agnesian HealthCare serves. Daily, I am reminded that the work we do is truly making the Fond du Lac area a better and healthier place.

What is the one thing you would do if you knew you could not fail?
One thing that I would do more often, if I was certain I would not fail, would be to challenge the status quo. As young professionals, I feel that many are hesitant to challenge a process or procedure. We often have the “this is how it has always been done” mindset, though that may not be the most efficient or relevant way. I would encourage more positive change.

How has YPF contributed to your personal and/or professional development?
My connection with YPF was cultivated while I was still an undergraduate student at Marian University. In fact, it was a requirement of my career preparation class to join YPF and to consider becoming involved. Through that, I was able to meet other young professionals in the healthcare industry. This introduction enabled me to arrange professional development (shadowing) opportunities, while still in school, with Agnesian HealthCare executives. This truly made a difference when it came to searching for my first job!

Currently, through the recommendation of another YPF member that is too employed with Agnesian HealthCare, I am on the YP Week committee. YPF has and will continue to allow me to meet other young professionals in this area. In my opinion, you can never have too many connections with other professionals in this area!

Who or what is your source of professional inspiration?
Beginning at a very young age, my mother and father have been the most impactful source of professional inspiration. My parents are both successful in their careers and make great efforts to be involved within our community. It’s always been clear to me that making a difference in the lives of others is their passion.

What words of wisdom do you have for other young professionals working in Fond du Lac?
Though, at times, it feels awkward and daunting to do new things or to join a group of unfamiliar people, take that leap of faith. The discomfort will quickly fade and you’ll be thrilled that you made the effort(s) to further develop your personal and professional ties.
