Marian University NCAA men’s ice hockey (8-13-1, 5-9-1 NCHA) scored with 10.3 seconds remaining to defeat No. 7 Trine 5-4.

- A scoreless opening period saw a lot of defense and not many scoring chances.
- The Thunder were able to open the scoring 3:27 in and then scored a short-handed goal one minute later to lead 2-0.
- Marian lit the lamp for the first time on a power-play goal at the 9:04 mark.
- Senior Daunte Fortner was the scorer and he was assisted by junior Noah Pickart and senior Jaymes Knee.
- Senior Matteo Pecchia then tied the game with 6:07 left in the period with the 2-2 score holding into the second intermission.
- The Sabres took their first lead of the game at the 4:34 mark when freshman Brendan Bottem scored with assists from fellow freshmen Lucas Jeffreys and Dayne Tews.
- Trine responded right back 2:48 later to tie the game at 3-3.
- This tie didn’t last long as senior Luca Marcellitti scored just 39 seconds later with assists from junior Caden Carlson and freshman Edison Weeks.
- The Thunder once again had a response tying teh game at 4-4 with 8:02 on the clock.
- The game looked destined for overtime but Fortner would score his second of the game with 10.3 seconds remaining with an assist from Weeks.

- Marian was outshot 28-19 for the game but had 10 shots in the final period.
- The Thunder held a 39-31 advantage for face-offs.
- The Sabres finished 1-for-4 on the power play, while Trine was 0-for-3 with one short-handed score.
- This is the third time this season Marian has scored five goals in a game.
- Marian is now 4-9-0 all-time against Trine and snapped a six-game skid against the Thunder.
