Marian University men’s soccer (1-1-0, 0-0-0 NACC) earned its first victory of the season defeating Saint Mary’s (Minn.) 2-1 in its home opener.

- The Cardinals were able to get a quick jump on the Sabres scoring at just the 4:22 mark, this proved to be the only shot on goal for SMU.
- Marian responded at the 12:14 mark when senior Giuliano Corazzina scored his first goal of the year with an assist from sophomore Owen Holevas.
- This proved to be all the scoring for the opening half.
- Limited chances continued in the second half with neither team bending.
- Marian was able to finally break the tie with 5:01 left to play when senior Logan Holevas buried a penalty kick to seal the win.

- The Sabres outshot the Cardinals in each half finishing with a 13-6 margin and a 4-1 edge in shots on goal.
- This is just the second time Marian has beaten SMU in the all-time series.
- With his first half goal, Corazzina became the sixth Marian men’s soccer student-athlete to reach the 30 career goals plateau.
