Kondex Hosts Expansion Groundbreaking Celebration

On April 20, 2022, Kondex Corporation hosted a groundbreaking celebration to kick off the construction of a 60,000 square-foot expansion to its Lomira, Wisconsin manufacturing facility. Kondex President Keith Johnson, VP of Manufacturing Brian Bloczynski, Owner Scott Moon, Excel Engineering Principal Tom Schermerhorn, C.D. Smith Construction Senior Vice President Greg Sabel, and Village of Lomira Trustee Gary More each addressed the audience of more than 200 associates, retirees, construction partners, and special guests. Following the presentation, a catered lunch from Eden Catering was served, with subsequent meals provided for second, third, and weekend shift associates.

Construction will begin in the coming weeks and is slated for completion by Fall 2022. C.D. Smith Construction was selected as the general contractor and Excel Engineering as the architectural design team. The project will be very similar to Kondex’s 2011 plant expansion of nearly the same square footage. The addition will extend the south end of the facility and provide the space needed to match Company growth. A state-of-the-art austemper heat treatment system, warehouse, and future manufacturing space will occupy the majority of the new footprint. Additional restrooms and receiving docks are also included in the project.

“This expansion is a physical extension of the hard work and effort our associates bring with them to Kondex each and every day. We are extremely excited about the Company’s growth and the potential that brings to our associates and their families, our surrounding communities, and our customers,” said Johnson. “Kondex plays an important role in manufacturing products needed by farmers, grounds crews, and underground utility workers. Our Lomira, Wisconsin hometown may be relatively small, but our impact is essential around the globe.”
