Senior Kayla Kolpitcke has become the first student-athlete in Marian women’s ice hockey program history to earn multiple All-NCHA selections.
Kolpitcke (Powell, Wyo.) earns her second straight All-NCHA award after another historic season in goal for the Sabres. She would set single season Marian records with her 1.70 goals-against average and .957 save percentage. Kolpitcke is the first Sabre goaltender to ever have a goals-against average below 2.00 and a save percentage higher than .935. Her .957 save percentage on the season led the NCHA and ranks third in the entire nation. Kolpitcke earned four victories during the season and had six performances where she allowed one or fewer goals. She closed out the year with 533 saves on the campaign with at least 40 saves in six games. She had a season-high 50 stops at home against Aurora during the regular season and against those same Spartans posted a .956 save percentage with 86 total saves in the two-game NCHA Slaats Cup Quarterfinals match-up. As the anchor of the penalty kill, the Sabre penalty kill finished the season second in the NCHA at 90.2 percent.

Kolpitcke closes out her Marian career first in program history for goals-against average (2.54) and save percentage (.933), second for wins (18) and shutouts (5), and third for total saves (2,220). She had three of the best six single seasons in program history for goals-against average, and two of the best six seasons for save percentage.
