Knee inks professional deal with Pensacola

 Jaymes Knee from the Marian University NCAA ice hockey program has signed a professional contract with the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). 

Knee (Brandon, Man.) skated in 87 games during his Marian career scoring 22 goals with 41 assists for 63 total points.  Knee had a breakout sophomore campaign for the Sabres where he scored 12 goals with 16 assists for 28 points in 27 games, all career marks.  Five of his goals proved to be game-winning scores putting him tied for third in the single-season records for the category.  As a junior, Knee battled through injuries to still skate in 20 games where he scored seven goals with 11 assists for 18 points.  Knee skated in 22 games this past season scoring three goals with 13 assists for 16 total points.  He also earned a spot on the LayerEight Shootout All-Tournament Team after scoring a goal with three assists against Middlebury and Plattsburgh State.  

The SPHL is an independent professional hockey league based out of Huntersville, N.C.  The league is primarily based in the southeastern United States but stretches into Illinois and Indiana.  For more information on the Pensacola Ice Flyers please visit https://iceflyers.com/.  Pensacola is next in action Friday, March 13 at Birmingham with their next home game being th next day against Quad City.
