Sophomore Chelsea King of Marian University women’s soccer has been named the NACC Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.
King (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) led Marian to a tie against CUW and win over Benedictine that clinched a spot in the NACC Tournament. She opened the week making five saves in a 1-1 stalemate against Concordia Wisconsin. She then stopped all eight shots she saw against Benedictine for her fourth shutout of the season. King posted a .929 save percentage to go with her 13 saves for the week.
On the season, King is 29th in the nation with 100 saves, while her .855 save percentage is second in the NACC. She is also third in the conference with a 1.31 goals-against average.

Marian hosts Lakeland Wednesday, October 18 for a 7 p.m. kick-off in NACC action. Marian needs just one point over the final two games of the season to earn a home game in the opening round of the NACC Tournament.
