King earns third NACC Defensive Player of the Week award

Sophomore Chelsea King of Marian University women’s soccer has earned her third NACC Defensive Player of the Week award.

King (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) had another solid performance leading Marian to a thrilling 2-1 win over Dominican at home.  The win was the first time the Sabres defeated Dominican at home since 2013.  King made eight saves in the victory allowing just one goal for an .889 save percentage.  It was the sixth time this season she has made at least eight saves in a game.

In 11 starts this season, King leads the NACC with an .845 save percentage and her 87 saves is 26th in the country.  King is one of two keepers in the NACC who rank inside the top-five for save percentage and total saves.
