King earns second NACC Defensive Player of the Week nod

Sophomore Chelsea King of Marian University women’s soccer has been selected as the NACC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

King (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) led Marian to a pair of NACC victories as she continued her dominant season.  She opened the week making 11 saves against St. Norbert to lead the Sabres to its first win over SNC since 2014 with a 4-1 final.  The performance was the third time this season she made double-digit saves.  She followed that up with five saves against Aurora as Marian won its home opener 3-1.  King currently ranks 14th in the nation 67 saves on the season and her .859 save percentage is second in the NACC.

Marian remains at home to host MSOE Wednesday, September 27 for a 7 p.m. kick-off in NACC action.
