Horicon Bank Promotes Steve Leaman to Executive Vice President

Horicon Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Steve Leaman to Executive Vice President.

Leaman joined Horicon Bank in 2011 as an Assistant Vice President of Business Banking, bringing experience in both retail and commercial banking. Over the years, he assumed increasing leadership responsibilities across the organization, culminating in his role as Chief Banking Officer. Today, he oversees Business Banking, Treasury Management, Mortgage Lending, Retail Banking, Business Development, Marketing, and Trust Administration.

“Steve is an integral member of our Horicon Bank leadership team,” said Fred C. Schwertfeger, President of Horicon Bank. “He truly lives out our vision of doing good together with our communities and our customers.”

Since beginning his banking career in 1998, Leaman has built a reputation for his relationship-focused approach and ability to help customers navigate financial challenges. Beyond his leadership responsibilities, he leads Horicon Bank’s Community Engagement strategic theme and continually seeks opportunities to enhance customer experience. His commitment to service is matched by a dedication to professional development, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration and Certificate of Executive Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completing the Graduate School of Banking in 2024.

His commitment to service extends well beyond the bank. A passionate community volunteer, Leaman has received numerous honors, including the Envision Greater Fond du Lac Volunteer of the Year Award, Rotary International’s honorary Paul Harris Fellow recognition, the Donald G. Jones Leadership Alumni Award, the Wisconsin Alumni Association’s “Badger of the Year” Award, and the Carl W. Tonjes Volunteer Award. His longstanding involvement in the community has even earned him the nickname, “Mr. Fond du Lac.”

“Steve’s leadership, commitment to our customers, and dedication to our communities have made a lasting impact on Horicon Bank,” said Schwertfeger. “We look forward to his continued contributions in this new role.”
