Horicon Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott De Young to its Board of Directors.
De Young brings over three decades of financial and operational expertise to his role. Born and raised in Wisconsin, De Young moved to Chicago to serve as Vice President of Finance and Operations for two printing companies. A Certified Public Accountant, De Young went on to serve as CFO for Sam’s Well Drilling and then became co-owner and CFO of Municipal Well and Pump in Waupun, eventually rising to the role of President in 2021.
Horicon Bank CEO Fred F. Schwertfeger says De Young’s leadership has been marked by a focus on operational excellence and strategic growth.
“We are delighted to welcome Scott to the Board in an official capacity,” said Fred F. Schwertfeger, Horicon Bank CEO and Board Chair. “His extensive financial leadership and deep commitment to our communities make him a valuable addition to our team.”
Beyond his professional accomplishments, De Young is a dedicated community leader. He previously served as Chair of the Board at Central Wisconsin Christian School and has been a member of the Board of Directors for United Wisconsin Grain Producers (UWGP) since 2020. His community involvement also includes coaching youth sports and active service in his church.
De Young’s appointment reflects Horicon Bank’s ongoing commitment to strong governance and community-focused leadership.
“I’m honored to join the Board of Directors at Horicon Bank,” said De Young. “Having worked with Horicon Bank and Terry O’Connor for more than 20 years, I’ve consistently been impressed by their professionalism and unwavering commitment to customer service. I also deeply value the bank’s reputation as a faith-driven organization that actively invests in its communities. I’m excited to contribute to Horicon Bank’s continued growth and impact.”
