Heim earns spot on CSC Academic All-District Team

Senior Alyssa Heim of Marian University women’s ice hockey has been named to the Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.

The CSC Academic All-American program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their efforts both in competition and in the classroom. To be eligible, a student-athlete must compete in 90 percent of their team’s games, be a key starter or reserve on their team, and attain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5. They must also hold at least sophomore standing at their institution.

Heim (Beaver Dam, Wis.) had another strong season on the ice leading the Sabres in scoring for a second straight season. She would score six goals and added nine helpers for 15 total points while skating in all 26 games. Heim had two multi-goal games on the campaign including a three-point game against UW-Superior where she had a pair of goals to go with an assist, where her second goal was the game-winner. She would go on to earn an NCHA Star of the Week selection following the four-point weekend at the Yellow Jackets. Heim had three special-teams goals with a power-play score to go with a pair of short-handed goals. In the face-off circle, Heim won 243 draws and had a .524 win percentage.
