Marian University men’s basketball (6-0, 0-0 NACC) trailed by as much as 15 with 5:55 left in regulation only to storm back and beat Buena Vista 102-98 in double overtime.

- The Sabres had a quick start jumping out to a quick 10-3 lead.
- Marian built its lead to as large as 10 at 27-17 only for the Beavers to use a 16-7 run to only trail by one.
- A late layup from sophomore Andrew Ayeni put the Sabres ahead 36-33 heading into the half.
- The Sabres built their lead out to 42-36 before BVU got hot from beyond the arc and used a 20-8 spurt to lead 56-50.
- After trimming the deficit to three with 10:25 left, the Beavers responded scoring 12 unanswered points and held a 72-57 lead with 5:55 on the clock.
- The Beavers maintained a double-digit lead with 2:45 left before Marian began its comeback.
- Marian quickly scored eight points to only trail two with 26 ticks left.
- After free throws went back-and-forth for both sides, senior Mahlik Hall would hit a triple at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.
- The Sabres led by as much as five in the first overtime session but nothing was settled with the score being 91-91.
- The two squads were stuck at a 97-97 stalemate before a three-pointer from freshman Harper Krolak gave Marian the lead for good at 100-97 with 1:43 left.
- Free throws from Krolak and junior Trey Jenkins set the final at 102-98.

- Marian finished 39-of-78 (.500) from the field and 11-of-29 (.379) from beyond the arc.
- Buena Vista shot 27-of-55 (.491) adn 11-of-26 (.423) on triples.
- The Beavers also finished 33-of-44 (.750) from the charity stripe.
- The Marian bench outscored the BVU bench 34-10 in the win, and the Sabres finished with a 48-30 edge in points in the paint.
- This is the first time Marian has eclipsed 100 points since Jan. 8, 2022 against Dominican.
- Seven different Sabres finished with double-digit points.
- Marian continues its best start in known program history.
- The Sabres are now 1-1 all-time against BVU with this being the first match-up since 2005.
