Marian University women’s soccer (1-0-0, 0-0-0 NACC) used a 78th-minute goal from junior Emily Gordillo to defeat Augustana (Ill.) 1-0 in its first game of the season.

- Augustana (Ill.) had the first shot of the game but Marian controlled play for the majority of the opening half.
- Despite this, the Vikings were able to keep Marian off the scoreboard and the game knotted at 0-0 at halftime.
- The second half saw similar play where Marian managed to maintain possession.
- The Sabres would make three substitutions in the 75th minute before Gordillo tucked a shot inside the upper corner at the 77:27 mark to open the scoring.
- Marian was able to hold the Vikings to only one shot the rest of the way in a season-opening win.

- Marian finished with a 15-5 edge in shots and 8-3 advantage for shots on goal.
- The Sabres also had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
