Kids can give their favorite stuffed animal the adventure of a lifetime at the Fond du Lac Public Library.
Among the activities planned for March is the library’s annual Stuffed Animal Sleepover. For this popular event, drop off a stuffed animal at the library on Friday, March 7 at 5 p.m. Kids then can stay for a short storytime and get their stuffed friends ready for the sleepover. They can return the next morning at 9:30 a.m. to find out about all the fun the animals had overnight.

Other youth activities planned during February include:
- Wednesday, March 5 at 1:30 p.m. in the Discovery Room: Drop in to Homeschool Hour to connect with other homeschooled students while learning something new. Learn about Caldecott Award winners and about picture books in general. No registration required.
- Tuesday, March 11 at 6 p.m. in the McLane Room: Drop into the latest meeting of the FDLPL Rook Club. Chess players of all ages and abilities are invited for friendly gameplay; experienced players are encouraged to assist newer players. No registration required.
- Wednesday, March 12 at 4:30 p.m. in the Discovery Room: Visit Crafty Kids to make pom-pom flower bookmarks. No registration required.
- Friday, March 14 at 11 a.m. & 2 p.m.: Youth ages 5-12 will learn to paint a Happy Hippo during Paint-Along. Register starting Feb. 28 at calendar.fdlpl.org.
- Monday, March 17 at 4:30 p.m. in the Discovery Room: Join Maker Mondays to make a creature lamp with fiber optic hair. No registration required.
- Tuesday, March 25 at 4:30 p.m. in the Discovery Room: Visit with a trained therapy dog and practice your reading skills. These dogs are great listeners.
Teens, meanwhile, have plenty planned as well, including a special ACT Prep session on Monday, March 3 at 5 p.m. in the Discovery Room. High schoolers may drop in for an overview of the test, preparation tips, and to learn more about resources from the library and beyond that can help on test day. No registration required.

- Monday, March 10 through Sunday, March 16: Register for a Browser’s Cache bag, complete with a checked-out book and more, that can be picked up later in the month. Theme:The Nick of Time.
- Tuesday, March 4 at 4:30 p.m. in the Discovery Room: Drop into Anime Afternoon to see a few episodes of anime and enjoy a few snacks. Cosplay is welcome. No registration required.
- Monday, March 10 and Monday, March 24 at 4:30 p.m. in the Teen Area: Drop in for some dedicated writing workshop time. Connect with other writers, and bring what you’re working on. We’ll offer writing prompts as well.
- Tuesday, March 18 at 4:30 p.m. in the Discovery Room: Drop into Play with Your Food this month for a noodle-themed activity. No registration required.
- Thursday, March 20 at 4:30 p.m. in the Teen Space: Get ready for a tabletop roleplaying adventure during Ready, Set, Roleplay. Bring your own Level 1 character or use one provided. All experience levels are welcome. For grades 6-12. No registration required.
Fond du Lac Public Library operates two locations: the Main Library at 32 Sheboygan St. in downtown Fond du Lac, and the Allen J. Buechel Branch at 1139 E. Johnson St. near Festival Foods. The main library is open daily: Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Chapter 52 Bookstore at 52 Sheboygan St. is open Monday through Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
