The big guy in the red suit, Santa Claus, is returning to the Fond du Lac Public Library to sit down for free photos with children in early December as the library turns into a Winter Wonderland.

This year, he’s visiting twice, including a special sensory-friendly session.

Santa arrives on Tuesday, Dec. 9 for a registration-only event for youth with sensory-processing disorders. Limited space is available for these sessions, held at 4 and 4:30 p.m.; visit calendar.fdlpl.org to reserve a time. This hour will take place on the library’s Lower Level, have a small and limited number of families, and include crafts and activities that can easily be taken home if preferred. Registration opens Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 9 a.m. at calendar.fdlpl.org.

Later that evening, from 5 to 7 p.m., registration opens to anyone who wants to have a guaranteed time to sit down with the big guy. These sessions will be held at 5, 5:30, 6 and 6:30 p.m., and registration opens Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 9 a.m. at calendar.fdlpl.org. Crafts and games will be offered throughout the Lower Level of the library as well as in the Children’s Room.

Can’t make it on Dec. 9? Stop by Wednesday, Dec. 10 from 4 to 7 p.m., no registration needed. Crafts and games will be offered throughout the Lower Level of the library as well as in the Children’s Room.

All families who attend either night will receive a free book, courtesy of the Fond du Lac Evening Optimists.

Fond du Lac Public Library operates two locations: the Main Library at 32 Sheboygan St. in downtown Fond du Lac, and the Buechel Branch at 1132 E. Johnson St. near Festival Foods. The main library is open daily: Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Chapter 52 Bookstore at 52 Sheboygan St. is open Monday through Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., while the Buechel Branch is open weekdays from 2 to 6 p.m., and weekends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
