Four Sabres from the Marian University women’s lacrosse program have earned All-NACC recognition.
Senior Nicole Stachon (Kenosha, Wis.) ends a spectacular career earning all-conference recognition for a second straight season and a spot on the First Team for the first time. Stachon enjoyed a career year in all pertinent statistical categories ranking sixth in the NACC for goals per game and eighth in the conference for points per game. She became just the second Sabre in Marian women’s lacrosse history to reach 70 points with her 73 total points, while also setting a program record for assists with 18. Stachon had at least five points in nine games and ended her career with a career-high eight goals in an 18-4 win over Lawrence. She graduates the all-time leader for games played, games started, points, goals, assists, ground balls, and draw controls.
Freshman Piper Miller (Fort Frances, Ont.) earns a spot on the All-NACC Second Team after a strong first season. Miller was an anchor for the Sabre defense ranking fourth on the team for ground balls with 40 and third on the squad with 24 caused turnovers. She had at least four ground balls in five games and posted multiple caused turnovers six times. Miller was especially strong at the end of the season posting 21 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers over the final seven games of the season. She had four caused turnovers against Illinois Tech at home and on the road at CUW.
Senior Emma Heide (Kenosha, Wis.) earns all-conference recognition for the second time in her career being named to the honorable mention team. Heide finishes her Marian career with her best season for goal scoring after finding the back of the cage 32 times. She also set career-highs for ground balls with 40, caused turnovers with 30, and draw controls at 38. Heide had four games this season with at least three goals. She had a season-high five-point game against UWSP where she had three goals to go with two assists. She also had seven ground balls against Carroll and five caused turnovers against UW-Stout. Heide exits the Sabre women’s lacrosse program third all-time for points, second for assists, and the program leader for caused turnovers.
Senior Isabel Davis (Hoagland, Ind.) closes out her time at Marian on a high note earning an All-NACC Honorable Mention award. Davis had her best season statistically finishing the year with 42 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers. She also spent one game in cage for the Sabres where she made 12 saves against Beloit. Davis had at least three ground balls in seven games this season and was the cause for multiple turnovers five times. She opened the season with five ground balls against Carthage and then had three caused turnovers on the road at MSOE. Davis is one of just nine student-athletes to reach 100 career ground balls and also ends her career with 50 caused turnovers.
