Nikki Murray, a former Fond du Lac and current California resident, is the grand prize winner of the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation’s Samaritan Cash Raffle, being randomly drawn for the $50,000 cash prize.
Ticket sales were steady all morning on the drawing’s final day, May 14. The suspense was finally relieved when the grand prize winner was announced by Mason Gravelle, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation’s philanthropy development manager, Wisconsin Region, and co-chairpersons – Adam Stone, National Exchange Bank & Trust Wealth Management & Trust president, and Dr. Trevor Walker, SSM Health Fond du Lac Regional Clinic Family Medicine. Jill Stone and Emily Walker also served as co-chairpersons.
The SSM Health Samaritan Clinic provides health care to around 500 underinsured patients annually. The clinic provides a full spectrum of care, helping individuals to navigate insurance options, finding a primary care provider and working with local community resources if other needs arise. This year celebrates the 33rd anniversary of the Samaritan Clinic.
The clinic is funded in part by donations through the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation and Samaritan Cash Raffle proceeds.
More than 4,500 tickets were sold in this year’s raffle, surpassing last year’s total, with the cash raffle raising approximately $118,000.
All money raised by the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation stays local and supports the Greater Fond du Lac community.
“While the supporters of our cash raffle come from all walks of life, they all have one thing in common,” according to Gravelle. “They participate because they want to help make a difference in the lives of others in our community that might otherwise go without the medical care they need.”
