Dear Students, Staff, Families, and Community Members,
On behalf of the Board of Education, I thank Dr. Jeffrey Fleig for his four years of dedicated service to the Fond du Lac School District. During his tenure as the superintendent, Dr. Fleig demonstrated a laser focus on student achievement by maintaining high expectations for both students and staff.
This commitment led to significant progress, including an improvement in the District’s ranking from 375th to 205th out of 421 Wisconsin school districts, with all schools meeting expectations in the 2023-24 school year—an accomplishment not seen in over a decade. We wish Dr. Fleig all the best as he enters early retirement on May 20, 2025, to pursue an upcoming professional opportunity.
It has been a pleasure for Dr. Fleig to serve the students, staff, and broader Fond du Lac community over the past four years. The District’s marked improvement in student achievement, school culture, and overall state ranking reflects the collective dedication of all stakeholders and demonstrates that the Fond du Lac community is capable of exceptional educational outcomes.
We also welcome Mr. Matt Steinbarth as the incoming Superintendent of the Fond du Lac School District. Under his leadership, we are confident that we will continue to increase student achievement and strengthen our Fond du Lac school community.
Sincerely,
Katie Moder
Fond du Lac Board of Education President
